About me
My name is Mikaela Allee. I am a University Honors student, Marketing Major, Fashion Studies Minor. I will be graduating in a few short weeks (April 2021)!
My dream is to find the place where my talents and passions intersect. For me, that is the business side of fashion. I have always had a natural business sense and known that some sort of business was my path; however during my high school years I developed an intense passion for painting, creating, and fashion.
Helping others in my community has always held a special place in my heart. At my high school, we were required to complete 50 hours of community service. I knew that I wanted my hours to be focused, meaningful, and impactful. Upon graduation, I served over 400 hours of community service, earning two community service awards and the Cincinnatus Scholarship. The University Honors Program has served as a launchpad for a more in depth continuation of my learning experience and provides great benefits for future success. I am currently on the coordinator board of an amazing student organization called Camp Kesem. Kesem is a national organization that supports children through and beyond a parents cancer. I became involved when cancer touched my family, fortunately my dad is in remission, but as a young adult, it was difficult to process the range of emotions. Camp Kesem is a free summer camp that is completely planned and college student run. The passion and strength of each of our campers inspires me everyday to be who I am and enjoy every step of my journey.
My business skill set, coupled with my strong passion for art, and helping other people will set me up for success in every aspect of my future endeavors. This combination provides a unique perspective in my personal, academic, and professional life. I approach all of my work with the discipline and dedication demonstrated by all of my previous experiential learning and successes. I want to grow as a student leader, expand on my current passions, but more importantly find new passions and goals as I move through my journey as an honors undergraduate student at the University of Cincinnati. My learning portfolio will be the place that I document every aspect of my ever evolving life.
